Our client is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their procurement team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role will focus on sourcing activities for their unlicensed medicines business within a specialized department. The successful candidate will analyse market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategic initiatives to achieve organizational goals. This position requires expertise in procurement practices, supplier relationship management, and negotiation. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to lead initiatives that drive competitive advantage and financial performance.

Key Outcomes
- Drive global drug shortages and exclusive access initiatives.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in supply markets.
- Support business unit targets and ensure monthly achievements.
- Identify and develop business opportunities to grow the unlicensed medicines unit and contribute to the wider business through procurement excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate strategically with external stakeholders, including cultivating relationships with MAH and KAM.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and legal, to align sourcing initiatives with business needs.
- Identify risks within the portfolio and supply chain, and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and use analytics to inform future sourcing strategies.
- Take ownership of stock management from lifecycle start to end, ensuring competitive pricing and healthy growth margins.
- Support cross-functional tasks as required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Commercially focused with the ability to evaluate business opportunities and risks.
- A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical experience is essential.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a strategic role.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships.
- Proven expertise in stakeholder management, negotiation, relationship building, and commercial decision-making.
- Excellent IT and Microsoft Office skills.
