Environmental Manager
View job: Environmental ManagerA leading company in the food production industry is seeking an experienced Environmental, Sustainability, and Continuous Improvement Manager to join its senior team. This role is responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the site, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive environmental strategy, and driving sustainability initiatives to meet and exceed environmental targets. Support and maintain ISO 14001 certification and ISO 50001 to ensure compliance with standards. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, staying updated on both Irish and European regulations. Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies such as the EPA, local authorities, and public organizations. Monitor all emissions and emission points in accordance with licensing requirements. Generate reports in response to legislative requirements and licensing obligations. Oversee the operational management and supervision of the site’s wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), supporting the WWTP Operator to ensure compliance and completing daily paperwork. Continuously review electricity and water usage as part of energy management efforts. Manage sludge treatment optimization and removal operations. Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives. Lead sustainability reporting and improvement initiatives focused on recycling and waste reduction. Maintain and oversee the Environmental Management System. Provide input and support for projects involving the installation of new environmental equipment and technology. Attend audits and site inspections for EPA licensing, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and EWS compliance. Lead by example, upholding the company’s values in all areas of work. Essential Requirements: Qualification in a relevant subject related to Environment and Sustainability Management. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work independently, demonstrate innovation, and manage multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
