Responsibilities

Manage the development and execution of comprehensive strategies and prioritized tactical plans which address key EHS risks for the business.

Management and involvement in the internal EHS audit and walkabout program ensuring the identification of practical and workable solutions to deficiencies raised.

Manage the EHS Curriculum for the site ensuring all employees have the necessary information instruction and training to conduct their roles in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

As the EHS subject matter expert, provide sound technical advice for the organization about all EHS matters.

Lead the investigation process for EHS incidents ensuring the root cause is always identified along with sustainable corrective actions which prevent reoccurrence.

Influence and engage at all levels to drive the EHS agenda forward, improving cultural maturity and promoting EHS Leadership Excellence.

Manage the site risk assessment program ensuring EHS hazards are identified and assessed for all activities and tasks conducted on site.

Deliver value for the business through planning and monitoring of EHS budgets for both operational and capital expenditure.

Manage the collection, reporting and diagnosis of EHS data to identify trends and areas for focused improvement.

Liaise with EHS regulatory agencies and identify and manage all EHS legal requirements to ensure compliance to same.

Manage the EHS element of the site change control program, evaluating EHS requirements for new projects and processes as well as change in the existing process and installation.
Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in EHS related discipline with at least 3 years managing EHS in a production environment, ideally in the pharma cGMP environment.

Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills.

A proven track record operating as a Senior EHS Manager in a pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation.

Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
