Fire Safety engineer

We are hiring Fire Safety Engineer to join our client who are a specialized fire safety consultancy operating across the UK and Ireland. This role involves delivering fire engineering projects across various sectors, combining technical expertise with practical, client-focused solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production of fire strategy reports and other relevant documentation as and when required.
  • Reviewing architectural drawings to determine potential fire strategy approval risks and opportunities to add value.
  • Calculations of evacuation times – Means of Escape Analysis.
  • Computational Evacuation Modelling Analysis.
  • Solve, with support, fire engineering calculations including radiant heat, smoke control and occupant evacuations.
  • Communicate the intended fire strategy to the design team and client through phone calls, emails and meetings as appropriate.
  • Third Party Review/Design Verification.
  • Assessment and understanding of the main UK fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory controls and a proven ability to develop and implement fire engineered design solutions in the built environment.
  • A working understanding of ADB, BS 9999 and BS 9991.
