A leading insurance company in the non-life space is looking to hire an Underwriting Controls & Governance Manager. The role reports to the Director of Underwriting and is responsible for risk, controls and governance across the 1LOD.
Key responsibilities include:
- Being an active member of the Underwriting Management Team, contributing to all key decisions and advising on your core areas of competence and expertise
- Delivering effective implementation of the Product Oversight & Governance policy, process and operational effectiveness
- In collaboration with the Underwriting, Product & Pricing team, lead oversight and delivery of the Quality Assurance framework, ensuring adequacy of the framework for the underlying portfolio of risks
- Ownership of the Register of Compliance Obligations process, including testing of required controls, and ensuring Underwriting meets all regulatory obligations with optimal efficiency for the business
- Acting as the Business Assurance Coordinator for the Underwriting function
- Ensuring the documentation of Business Process and Underwriting Manuals are adequate, reviewed regularly, in line with the expected level of Underwriting integrity and in compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements whilst providing clear guidelines for Underwriters
- Ensuring robust processes and controls are in place in respect of regulatory/statutory reporting obligations
Key requirements include:
- Relevant professional (ACII preferable) and /or 3rd level qualification
- Proven track record of managing risk, compliance, controls or governance within a non-life insurance company
