Technical Expert Electrical Software Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical, PLC, and mechanical troubleshooting on production lines and equipment.
  • Conduct routine electrical and PLC maintenance, installations, and electro-mechanical repairs.
  • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance using CMMS (PEMAC).
  • Monitor and intervene on production lines to maintain performance.
  • Read and follow electrical diagrams, PLC data, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Maintain and repair PLC-controlled bakery, handling, and packaging equipment.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment replacement and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, PLC, and mechanical control systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose faults in electrical systems; perform necessary repairs.
  • Maintain and repair electric motors, salvaging usable parts for inventory.
  • Advise the Engineering Manager on equipment maintenance and costs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Requirements:

  • Electrical qualification within a manufacturing plant, with strong PLC programming and mechanical knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-skilled/cross-skilled mindset with high-volume process troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Experience working with AC and DC voltages (12V to 380V three-phase).
  • Strong focus on Quality, Health, and Safety.
  • Willingness to engage in cross-skilling and ongoing training.
  • Experience troubleshooting using PLC programs.
