This organisation is a market leader in data centre, industrial/high-tech, and commercial developments, and is now seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join their high-performing team.
About the Role:
As a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical building services design across a range of large-scale projects. From concept through to client handover, you will be responsible for project execution, team coordination, and client relationship management. This is a hybrid position based in Ireland, requiring periodic office attendance in Dublin depending on team and project requirements.
You’ll play a key role in mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate engineers, ensuring all design outputs meet quality assurance standards. You will also support the Group Management Team through regular reporting and contribute to resource and project planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee mechanical design delivery for data centre, commercial, and industrial projects across the EMEA region.
- Act as a senior member of the design team, supporting and reporting to the team lead.
- Represent the company in client meetings, offering technical guidance and clear communication.
- Manage project workflows and deadlines by prioritising and delegating effectively.
- Provide mentorship and development for junior engineering staff.
- Review and ensure quality control of all design deliverables.
- Manage and report on progress, risk, scope, and resources.
- Promote a positive team culture and uphold the organisation’s reputation both internally and externally.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical building services design.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered status or working toward Chartership.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Proven ability to lead project tasks and manage team resources.
- Excellent report writing and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, drainage systems, and building controls.
- Strong understanding of design standards and construction processes.
- Committed to mentoring and upskilling team members.
