Quantity Surveyor

Junior/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Our client’s looking for a Quantity Surveyor in Meath. This is a great opportunity to join a mid-tier main building contractor, delivering high-quality construction, fitout, and refurbishment projects across the Leinster region. With expertise in commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors, they partner with top design and engineering professionals to bring each project to life. Their portfolio includes everything from bespoke one-off builds to multi-unit developments and specialist interior fitouts.

You will be overseeing quantity surveying duties, including measurement, procurement, cost control, reporting, and final account settlement, all delivered in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake all aspects of quantity surveying including cost estimation, procurement, cost monitoring and control, interim valuations, and final account preparation.
  • Extract quantities from technical drawings using estimating software.
  • Engage with suppliers: issue enquiries, evaluate, and compile quotations for various packages.
  • Manage project cost control processes and prepare tender and contract documentation.
  • Administer payments to subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assess and manage variations, track design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster strong working relationships with subcontractors, site personnel, and clients.
  • Participate in site and project meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ambition for career development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Cubit software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction technology and building practices.
  • Strong numeracy, IT, and time management skills.
  • Professional presentation and conduct.
