Senior Quantity Surveyor
Core Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage all fiscal components of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking to ensure financial control.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Direct the procurement process, assess tenders, negotiate terms with vendors and subcontractors, and oversee contract compliance with agreed terms.
- Valuations and Payment Processing: Prepare, submit, and monitor interim valuations and final accounts. Handle payment applications and variations to maintain precise and timely financial oversight.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks, propose strategies to minimize them, and administer contingency measures to safeguard project budgets and timelines.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, delivering comprehensive cost reports and fostering strong professional connections.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior surveyors, promoting a collaborative and goal-oriented team culture.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Experience: At least 5-7 years in quantity surveying, ideally within the construction sector, with proven success on commercial or residential projects.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of procurement practices, contract administration, and Irish construction laws and standards.
- Key Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in quantity surveying software with advanced capability in Microsoft Office.
- Interpersonal Abilities: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
