Quality Control Assistant

We are seeking a Quality Control Assistant for our client in Cork, a leading supplier of high-quality ingredients to the bakery trade in Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to maintaining the highest quality standards in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update quality records.
• Ensure all production processes and batch paperwork are current and properly maintained.
• Oversee operator performance to ensure adherence to company standards and training protocols.
• Ensure compliance with allergen and quality policies and procedures.
• Monitor ingredient shelf life and adherence to batch rotation.
• Investigate and report on non-conforming raw materials and packaging.
• Identify, document, and report any quality issues on the production floor to the QA or Technical & Quality Manager when necessary.
• Implement, monitor, and review corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assistant and Technical Quality Manager on all quality control matters, ensuring proper documentation of all details and correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
• Participate in internal audits.
• Support the QA team during external audits, including traceability challenges.
• Provide coverage for the QA team during holidays or illness.
• Follow instructions provided by the Quality Assistant or Technical & Quality Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Food Science or a related scientific field.
• Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
• Previous experience in quality control within the food industry.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
