Production Operator

Great opportunity to work with leading construction and materials group in Ireland and Great Britain. They operate cement plants, quarries, asphalt plants, nearly 200 ready-mixed concrete plants, as well as a range of contract surfacing and other essential products. Successful candidate will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring the smooth running of the production line, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible to: 

  • Efficiently operate and monitor machines used in the manufacturing process.
  • Adjust and monitor equipment settings to meet production specifications for cement, asphalt, or concrete products.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality standards, identifying and reporting any defects or irregularities.
  • Follow detailed work instructions to manage the production process, ensuring timely completion of production targets.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Accurately document production data, including quantities produced, machine performance, and any issues encountered.
  • Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure a smooth production process and resolve any issues quickly.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a construction material production or manufacturing environment, preferably within the construction material sector.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery, such as crushers, mixers, or batching plants, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to cement, asphalt, or concrete production.
  • A technical diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
