We’re hiring a Planning Engineer to join our client who is a one of Ireland’s leading civil and engineering companies. They deliver large-scale infrastructure projects all over the country and have been growing massively.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating with local authorities, emergency services, and transport providers to ensure smooth project execution while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle UE Escalations and manage customer complaints efficiently.
- Process T1 applications and liaise with relevant stakeholders for approvals.
- Manage road closure applications, ensuring compliance with local authority regulations.
- Communicate effectively with Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead regarding traffic disruptions.
- Organize and coordinate Variable Message Signs (VMS) for public notifications.
- Submit planning applications and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Arrange indemnities as required for works and road closures.
- Coordinate with customer care teams to facilitate carding for affected residents.
- Notify blue light services (emergency services) about planned works and disruptions.
- Draft directional and narrative statements for County Councils (CoCo) on road closures, including descriptions and press release content for public information.
Requirements:
- Full clean driver’s license essential.
- A qualification in engineering or equivalent is desirable.
- Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience.
- Previous experience and the ability to read designs.
- Commercially aware of projects costs.
- Experience with site activities and multiple teams.
- Good knowledge of HSQE requirements.
- Good knowledge of ground support systems.
- Computer literate.
- Confident, motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Time management abilities to meet targets.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
