Lead Fire Engineer

Our client who’s an award-winning fire engineering consultancy known for delivering cutting-edge fire safety solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. This company has built a strong reputation in the Irish market for technical excellence, innovative thinking, and a collaborative, supportive culture. With continued growth and a solid project pipeline, they are now looking to expand their Dublin-based team with an Associate/Lead Fire Engineer who is passionate about safety, performance, and technical delivery.

About the Role:

Senior or Associate-level Fire Engineer to lead fire safety projects across various sectors in Ireland and the UK. This is a client-facing, technically involved role with project leadership, mentoring, and strategic consultancy responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production of fee proposals, fire strategy reports and other relevant documentation as and when required.
  • Maintaining client relationships.
  • Managing projects from appointment through to completion.
  • Mentoring junior staff, guiding them on professional development.
  • Attend Client meetings, conduct site surveys and inspections and communicate the intended fire strategy to the design team and client through phone calls, emails and meetings as appropriate.
  • Reviewing architectural drawings to determine potential fire strategy approval risks and opportunities to add value.
  • Overseeing fire engineering calculations and modelling.
  • Third Party Review/Design Verification.
  • Assessment and understanding of the main Irish fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings and industrial facilities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Senior Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team in the Irish construction industry, with some project management experience.
  • Engineers Ireland or IFE Membership (MIEI, MIFireE or AIFireE).
  • A thorough understanding of TGD B, BS 9999 and BS 9991.
  • A thorough working understanding of the Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) process, including experience corresponding with fire officers.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory controls. BCAR and a proven ability to develop and implement fire engineered design solutions in the built environment.
