Health & Safety Officer

Our client, is a growing Irish-owned company, offering bespoke mechanical engineering services to the fitout industry. With a strong focus on quality and safety, they are now looking for a part-time Health and Safety Officer to join their team in their Dublin office.
This role presents a great opportunity to work with a supportive, dynamic team while helping to foster a culture of safety across various projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

–        Foster a strong workplace health and safety culture, ensuring ongoing communication with managers, safety representatives, and employees.

–        Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.

–        Participate in H&S meetings, lead risk reviews, and oversee incident investigations and reporting.

–        Identify and schedule mandatory safety training and ensure its timely delivery.

–        Create and share health and safety materials to drive continuous improvement.

–        Lead safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture across the business.

–        Maintain accurate documentation of training records, policies, risk assessments, and safety procedures.

–        Oversee emergency procedures, including fire safety, and ensure compliance with safety standards across operations.

–        Track and report on key H&S metrics, incidents, and non-compliance issues.

Key Requirements:

–        A strong team player with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

–        A proactive approach with a “can do” attitude and a genuine drive to improve safety standards.

–        Proven track record in influencing stakeholders on Health and Safety issues.

–        A clear understanding of the legislative framework for Health and Safety.

–        Strong understanding of safety management systems and incident investigation techniques.

–        A degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

–        A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.

–        Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer.

–        Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

–        A full clean Irish driver’s license.

–        A background in engineering or construction is preferred.
