Engineering Shift Supervisor

Shift Engineering Supervisor – EUR 27.50 an hour + 33.3% shift allowance

Our client is a food production company, that is recruiting for a number of shift engineering supervisor vacancies. They are planning for a 30% growth strategy, which means great opportunities for the right candidates!

 

There is a 4-cycle continental shift pattern with shifts alternating between 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am alternating between days and nights:

Week 1- Working Monday, Tuesday. Off Wednesday and Thursday and Working Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Week 2- Off Monday and Tuesday, Working Wednesday and Thursday and Off Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This position is Shift based and candidates must be willing to and contract to work the Shift patterns as set out by the Company in line with Business needs.

 

Overview:

· Supporting the day-to-day management of Engineering shift team, working closely with Operations and site management team to ensure output targets are achieved.

· To ensure optimum performance of the manufacturing plants and equipment at least cost to give least breakdowns and continuously improve factory efficiency.

· Lead the setting of engineering standards across the site by providing functional leadership and expertise on improvement activities, standards definition, and delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

· Support the engineering function aligning with the site engineering strategy and annual engineering departmental targets.

· Ensure that housekeeping & 5s standards as set by Group engineering are maintained and routinely improved.

· Support the day-to-day management of the engineering shift team.

· Support the mentoring, coaching and development program of the team, liaising with the engineering management team and training & HR departments where appropriate.

· Ensure engineering inductions, training matrices and training tasks are carried out across all engineering teams.

· Ensure shift team members annual appraisals are completed in conjunction with the engineering management team.

· Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed as required within their shift if necessary.

· Review equipment failure & OEE trends to then implement continuous improvement actions and measure performance to ensure continuous improvement against site KPIs.

· Manage continuous improvement activities and projects within their shift team to ensure efficient completion of tasks in a cost-effective manner.

· Proactively engage with the management of employee relations within the Engineering function.

· CMMS system.

· Work requests, BDF’s, GMP, CI, building maintenance, site services.

· Weekend site management.

· Ensure adequate level of manning and skill level is maintained against site requirements.

· Approve shift team members holidays in line with the company policy and manning requirements.

· Completion of return to works within their shift team members.

Qualifications needed:

Fetac level 6 within an engineering field including electrical and mechanical knowledge.
