Electrical Supervisor

A leading construction and materials group in Ireland and Great Britain with a turnover of approximately €1.6 billion PA is seeking a dedicated Electrical Supervisor. They operate two cement plants, over 100 quarries, 50 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete plants, and provide a range of essential products and services.

Purpose: To plan and execute the electrical, instrumentation, and control scope of all projects for the plant. This includes seeking new contractors and methods to ensure all work meets the required safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in fostering a safe work culture by supporting various safety initiatives.
  • Supervise contract personnel, ensuring adherence to safety systems and procedures.
  • Scope, budget, plan, and execute electrical projects.
  • Design, plan, and implement electrical projects and infrastructure work, supervising as necessary.
  • Identify and liaise with key stakeholders during project design and execution, while identifying opportunities for the electrical maintenance team to upskill.
  • Liaise with suppliers and consultants to resolve technical issues and develop external relationships.
  • Oversee and develop electrical documentation and drawing systems for new projects.
  • Assist in resolving electrical issues out-of-hours when necessary.
  • Deputise for the electrical line manager during absences.
  • Uphold company values and undertake other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of electrical supervisor experience
  • Continually update knowledge required for the job and attend training as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic approach, setting high standards for oneself and co-workers.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Effective communication skills with plant staff and senior management.
  • High level of problem-solving skills and technical awareness.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Team player with an awareness of Health and Safety legislation and standards.
  • Experience in Instrumentation & Controls and Programmable Logic Control (PLC).
