Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Tipperary

Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, H&S, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production operations, driving improvements and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct planned/unplanned maintenance on packaging, production, and utilities equipment.
  • Perform equipment calibration and proactively address recurring technical issues.
  • Enhance production efficiency by fine-tuning equipment, reducing downtime and waste, and maintaining optimal performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams and utilizing quality tools to implement robust solutions.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using computerized systems like PEMAC & CSB.
  • Develop and improve maintenance routines within a GMP environment.
  • Report maintenance activities and issues during shift meetings.
  • Provide general maintenance support across various systems, including process equipment, fire alarms, HVAC, refrigeration, water, packaging, and general facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental training, site procedures, and policies.
  • Respond to ‘call out’ as needed and foster strong working relationships with all departments.

Quality & Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of quality and GMP compliance.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for traceability and liaise with auditors during customer audits.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of the area, machines, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all H&S policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and work permits.
  • Champion a positive H&S culture.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in high-volume manufacturing, with a Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate.
  • Industrial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, blending analytical and experimental approaches.
  • Good technical ability, self-motivation, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Team player with decision-making ability and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and lean manufacturing principles.
