Responsibilities:
As a bench scientist, you will:

  • Process clinical specimens from receipt to reporting and storage in line with laboratory and quality management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and maintain high-quality standards in all operations.
  • Handle receiving, accessioning, and testing of samples with appropriate controls.
  • Troubleshoot, report patient results via the LIMS, and perform root cause analysis for errors and corrective actions.

  • Excellent time management and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • A BSc in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Current registration with the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine or CORU.
  • Relevant experience in routine clinical pathology (Biochemistry, Haematology, and Immuno/Serology/Endocrinology). Experience in Microbiology is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a clinical/medical laboratory (required).
  • 2 years of experience in medical microbiology (preferred).

Licence/Certification:

  • CORU Registration (required).
