Construction Procurement Manager

Our client is a leading provider of specialist contracting services, delivering high-quality solutions across multiple industries. They are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee our purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and cost-control initiatives.

Role Overview

As Procurement Manager, you will lead and manage all aspects of procurement strategy and operations. This includes developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, improving cost efficiencies, and ensuring all materials and services are procured in line with project timelines and company standards. You’ll play a critical role in supporting the delivery of projects and services across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance and compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including operations, finance, and project managers to forecast procurement needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement plans.
  • Manage inventory levels, delivery timelines, and procurement budgets.
  • Ensure procurement processes adhere to internal controls, policies, and regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Implement systems and tools for procurement planning and reporting.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and analysis for senior leadership.

Key Requirements

  • 4-5 plus years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of local regulations and tendering processes.
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
