Job Overview

As a Compliance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Food Safety Management system is robust, effective, and compliant with all relevant standards. Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, you will:

  • Implement, develop, and maintain the Food Safety Management system.
  • Review customer Codes of Practice (COPs), BRC/IFS standards, and the Quality Management System.
  • Identify gaps and implement necessary changes for compliance.
  • Liaise with department managers to ensure ownership and responsibility for food safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain food safety management procedures and SOPs.
  • Manage compliance with BRC/IFS standards and the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct gap analyses to ensure compliance with retailer COPs and standards.
  • Participate in internal audit, traceability, and HACCP teams.
  • Lead internal quality audits and assist in customer audits and factory visits.
  • Manage document control for the food safety management system.
  • Cover for the Deputy Quality Manager and address quality issues in production.
  • Drive quality improvement projects and identify opportunities for business improvement.
  • Ensure all audit non-conformances are closed within agreed timelines.

Performance Measures

  • Timely upload of weekly KPIs.
  • Annual review of HACCP plans.
  • Regular review and update of SOPs.
  • Zero non-conformances in external audits.
  • Completion of all internal audits on schedule.
  • Closing audit non-conformances within agreed timelines.

Personal Competencies and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, food processing, or pharmaceuticals in a dedicated Quality role.
  • Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or similar qualification.
  • Strong background in Food Safety, Quality Management Systems, and process control.
  • Experience with BRC/IFS standards and retailer COPs.
  • Proven ability to manage food safety systems in a regulated environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Strong numerical ability for data recording and analysis.
  • High computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites in Europe as needed.
  • Proven track record in achieving objectives and team motivation.
