My client, a top-tier law firm is looking for a Company Secretary to join the highly regarded and experienced Company Compliance & Governance Group. Key Responsibilities
- Attending and managing meetings for clients to include the taking and preparing of minutes
- Providing governance advice regarding the Companies Act 2014 and Corporate Governance Code requirements to stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation of board packs, agendas, and supporting documents for board and committee meetings
- Coordinate and communicate with directors and senior management to ensure proper governance and compliance practices
- Manage and maintain the company’s statutory books and records, including registers of directors
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including lawyers, auditors, regulators, and other professional advisors
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in corporate governance and ensure implementation within the company
- Represent the Group and firm at relevant events i.e. networking at ICSA events
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- 2 – 4 years’ experience advising companies within industry or a professional services firm
- Third level qualification in a related field together with the ICSA qualification/affiliation
- Strong working knowledge of the Companies Act 2014
- Outstanding Interpersonal and Communication skills both spoken and written
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to multitask whilst working to tight deadlines
- Ability to manage a portfolio budget and contribute to weekly group meetings
- Motivated, ambitious and proactive and being able to act on initiative as well as be part of a team
