Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre

Location: Ireland and Finland (EU Rotation)
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are hiring an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning process for a large-scale data centre project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading provider of turnkey data centre solutions, delivering high-profile projects across Europe.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in commissioning, with experience in data centre systems, including electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and overseeing all commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and deadlines.
  • Participate in commissioning meetings with project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of commissioning schedules and plans, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving commissioning documentation, including plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Support the compilation of all testing and commissioning documentation, including verifying and signing off on all results.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the commissioning process.
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist in implementing effective solutions during the commissioning phase.
  • Assist in developing all required IST documentation and managing its completion on a digital platform.
  • Participate in Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Coordination Meetings, and Handover Meetings.
  • Ensure that all testing and commissioning personnel are monitored on-site, with daily updates provided on the labour allocation tracker sheets.
  • Assist in managing the Project Commissioning Schedule, coordinating with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
  • Ensure systems are handed over fully operational and meeting client expectations.
  • Conduct system and equipment performance testing, validation, and reporting.
  • Maintain quality assurance and adherence to project specifications and standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to travel freely within the EU, as this role will support multiple projects across Europe.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a commissioning engineer role, ideally in large-scale construction projects or data centres.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software and tools.
  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
  • Happy to work on a rotational basis (3-week rotation).
