The 1% Podcast brings together the 3P’s of People, Professions and Performance. We chat to top-class performers from eclectic areas (sport, business, politics, art etc.) to extract the tactics, tools and routines you can use to get 1% better and achieve success.

First Episode – James Kerr
Our guest for the inaugural episode is James Kerr, bestselling author of the book Legacy. James Kerr’s book as been described as ‘seminal’ by the Independent newspaper and ‘unputdownable’ by Bloomberg. The Daily Telegraph newspaper called it the ‘modern version of Vince Lombardi’s guides to coaching’ and says ‘for those searching for genuine keys to team culture, it is manna from heaven.’ This was a fantastic conversation with an incredible writer, James is an exceptional storyteller and this podcast covers some of the key topics from his book, as well as insights into James’ next project and some insights into the tactics and routines of the man himself.

Second Episode – Des Cahill
Des is a sports presenter and commentator with our national broadcaster, RTE, he is also the regular weekday morning sports presenter on Morning Ireland and Today with Sean O’Rourke. Des was named “Ireland’s Most Influential Journalist on Twitter” in 2015 and 2016. As one of Ireland’s best known and most loved broadcasters; a friendly face on our TVs and a witty voice on our radios for decades, we chatted to Des Cahill about his life and new book, his early years in journalism, his country roots, the Irish language and RTE.

Latest Episode – Alan Ahearne
Coined by the Independent News and Media Group as “the man who told you so”, Alan is an internationally renowned economist, and was one of the very few people that spoke out before the economic collapse warning that the country was headed straight for it in 2007. With working experience serving as a special advisor to Brian Lenihen in 2011 and in the United States where he served as external advisor to the Strategy, Practice and Review Department of the International Monetary Fund, advising IMF senior management on how the Fund could better support the efforts of countries at all levels of income to boost growth and create jobs in the period ahead.
