Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Co. Louth
Client: Leading Transport Firm

Role Overview

Our client, a well-established transport firm, is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in transport planning, strong knowledge of traffic management, and excellent route planning capabilities across Ireland and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily transport planning for collections and deliveries, ensuring operational efficiency.

  • Plan and cost effective solutions for transporting out-of-gauge cargo across Europe.

  • Act as the main point of contact for drivers; manage rosters and ensure compliance with EU working time regulations.

  • Liaise with clients to maintain high service standards and build long-term relationships.

  • Continuously improve delivery processes, cost efficiency, and systems.

  • Monitor and optimize fleet tracking and performance.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in transport planning, scheduling, or logistics coordination.

  • Strong understanding of national and international traffic laws and systems.

  • Experienced in managing 3rd party hauliers; solid grasp of cost drivers.

  • Excellent multitasking, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel (essential), and PowerPoint.

  • Geographical knowledge of Ireland and continental Europe.

  • CPC certification is advantageous.
