This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial aspects across multiple high-profile sites. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and site teams to ensure cost control, contract compliance, and value generation from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee commercial activities on designated projects from early-stage procurement to final account.
- Manage project costs to ensure budgets are maintained or exceeded.
- Measure, price, and negotiate variations to project scope.
- Liaise with subcontractors and consultants on contractual and cost-related matters.
- Track project performance through reconciliations, forecasts, and regular reporting.
- Mentor and support junior surveyors within the commercial team.
- Review technical drawings and designs to ensure cost efficiency.
- Prepare monthly valuations and manage subcontractor payment cycles.
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the main contracting environment.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Proven commercial acumen across a mix of sectors (e.g., residential, commercial, education, healthcare).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction ERP systems is an advantage.
- Full clean driving licence.
