Senior Legal Counsel

This position supports a growing business with both domestic and international operations, with a particular emphasis on the Pharma and Medtech sectors. The ideal candidate will thrive in an in-house legal environment and collaborate closely with business leaders to address a wide range of legal priorities.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, the role involves close partnership with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage complex legal projects from initiation to completion, ensuring cross-functional alignment and timely execution.

Provide strategic legal advice and lead negotiations on high-value commercial contracts to support business growth while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Develop, implement, and enhance legal frameworks and contract templates in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Identify and address inefficiencies in legal operations by designing scalable, technology-driven process improvements.

Play a key leadership role in corporate transactions, including M&A and strategic investments, overseeing legal due diligence, drafting and reviewing transaction documentation, coordinating with external counsel, and supporting post-transaction integration.

Advise executive and senior business leaders on a range of legal, compliance, and corporate governance matters, including regulatory issues, dispute resolution, and reputational risk.

Support the implementation of enterprise-wide legal technology solutions, including but not limited to contract lifecycle management systems.

Effectively manage workload and priorities to meet business timelines and stakeholder expectations.

Collaborate with and manage external legal counsel, aiming to optimize costs and ensure high-quality service.

Contribute to a culture of legal excellence, mentoring junior team members and promoting continuous learning and capability development within the legal function.

Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed, contributing to strong corporate governance and organizational resilience.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained in a combination of private practice and in-house roles.

Strong experience in negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.

Commercially astute and solutions-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead and execute initiatives across functions.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization.
