THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a dynamic finance team based in the IFSC. This is a 12-month contract with the option of hybrid working, offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a growing firm. The role will provide exposure to various elements of the finance function, all within a supportive, team-based environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Billing
- Daily processing of invoices for all fee-earning departments.
- Ensure accurate recording of VAT.
- Liaise with multiple teams to clarify billing rules and regulations.
- Assist teams with the editing of time recordings.
- Carry out reconciliations for Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) as required.
- Process all reversal, reprint, and write-off forms as requested.
- Ensure the billing mailbox is kept up to date and all queries are dealt with promptly.

Accounts Payable
- Prepare and set up payments for payment runs twice monthly.
- Prepare credit card reconciliation and process payments monthly.
- Ensure all supplier accounts are reconciled and payments are up to date.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for intercompany and other vendor accounts.
- Ensure the accounts payable mailbox is kept up to date and all queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Post all accounts payable invoices and employee expenses to the system in a timely manner.
- Ensure all disbursements are loaded into the system daily.
- Ensure all supplier balances are maintained at sufficient levels each week.

Banking
- Prepare bank reconciliations: client accounts – daily, office accounts – weekly.
- Attend the bank with lodgements.
- Post cash receipts and payments daily.
- Verify and set up new payees on the banking system.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience as an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant with broad experience covering Accounts Payable (AP), Billing, and Banking.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Tact and diplomacy when dealing with confidential matters.
- Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload, with excellent prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
- Participate in continuously improving services by critically evaluating work systems, promoting new ideas, and actively developing service improvements.
- Flexibility in responding to changing circumstances.
- Experience within a law firm is advantageous, but not essential.
