We’re hiring a Health and Safety Officer to join our client who is a leading construction services provider in Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across their projects on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular on-site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Develop and implement site-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training to site staff and contractors.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date safety records, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety statements.
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and guidelines.
- Monitor and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance across the site.
- Liaise with project management teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure safety standards are upheld.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and updates to health and safety legislation.
Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health and Safety Officer role, ideally within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and engage site teams.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Full, clean driver’s license
