Commercial Accountant – Plc Head Office Finance role – Recently Qualified Accountant

They currently have an opportunity within their Head Office Finance Team for a recently Qualified Accountant to take their first post qualification move from practice (Big 4 / Top 10) to industry.

The Position

Sitting within the Head Office Finance Team, your role will offer a mix of month end reporting alongside a highly commercial focus encompassing a range of analytical, forward focused duties.

As a Commercial Finance Accountant your role will include:

  • Review Gross Margin and Sales during month-end accounts preparation and reporting
  • Ensure accurate application and reclamation of commercial agreements
  • Support Master data issues and link AP & AR queries for the Commercial team
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes
  • Prepare and review monthly B/S reconciliations
  • Resolve reconciling items with business partners (AP, AR, Commercial, IT)
  • Ensure B/S accounts reflect true business value and align with company policies
  • Reconcile Stock Accrual and improve related controls
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve issues as required
  • Point of contact with external auditors
  • Manage and develop Accounts Assistants

The Person

You will be a Qualified Accountant, ideally trained in a Big 4 / Top 10 practice. This will most likely be your first post qualification role outside practice.

You will be commercially aware and enjoy analytical work. Experience working with large volumes of data and the ability to review and analyse will be a key part of this role.

Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work somewhere fast paced will be key to the role.
