Lincoln Recruitment is searching for the role of Senior Casualty Underwriter for a client of ours based in Dublin City Centre. The candidate will be trusted with the underwriting of a portfolio of predominately Casualty, Liability, and Injury business on behalf of the companies’ clients.
The role is a full time, permanent position. The company has introduced a hybrid working model post pandemic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, prioritize, and choose submissions to be underwritten. Maintain risk selection in adherence with product guidelines and for achieving rate, renewal retention, and new business goals.
- Understand deal structures, terms, and services that best fit client’s needs. Negotiate deal structures, pricing, and terms & conditions with clients.
- Communicate with brokers on risk appetites and Casualty Value Proposition.
- Collaborate with underwriters in other lines of business to explore cross selling opportunities.
- Develop good relationships for the good of the business.
- Mentor junior underwriters.
Person Requirements:
- 1-2 years’ underwriting experience in an insurance company, agency, or brokerage – Specifically across Casualty, Liability or Personal Injury business.
- Completion or currently completing insurance exams through the Insurance Institute of Ireland
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Adaptive to working environment and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with technology, and proficient in Word and Excel.
