My client are an Insurance multinational with offices in numerous locations across Ireland.

This position is newly created due to continued growth and expansion of the business in Ireland. Now seeking a Manager with significant expertise in Commercial Insurance to assist across new client acquisition, product and proposition design and development, and sales leadership within one of the business’s largest and growing segments in Commercial and Enterprise.

Seeking applicants with a minimum CIP qualification through the Insurance Institute of Ireland; significant experience and technical knowledge of placing risks in the Commercial Insurance marketplace (either locally or internationally), particularly from a client relationship management and ongoing business development standpoint; and people and/or project management experience.

The Role

This person will be responsible for leadership of sales within the company’s Commercial Insurance division. This will include the design and ongoing development of market leading propositions; acquisition and growth of new client accounts; and providing leadership and support to the wider Commercial Sales team.

Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Setting and achieving annual new business targets through the ongoing development of market-leading sales propositions for clients of Commercial Insurance products
  • Identify and develop new client and affinity solutions to support ambitious growth goals of the Irish business,
  • Understand prospective client business issues, needs and expectations and propose appropriate tailored solutions to client individual needs
  • Lead each product development project from concept to launch as well as monitoring, adapting and considering client feedback
  • Assist in the development of new distribution models, ensuring to include key indicators to measure success
  • Establish strong internal and external networks to ensure best in class service
  • Chair regular sales meetings and provide monthly data driven management reports on performance and pipeline
  • Develop and coach client facing colleagues within the division and support their career development.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and prior experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ recent, relevant experience in a Leadership or Management position in Commercial Insurance Sales and/or Business Development
  • Minimum CIP qualification through the Insurance Institute of Ireland. ACII or working towards would be advantageous.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Commercial Insurance policies and schemes.
  • Proven track record of achieving new client acquisition, existing client retention, and general sales targets.
  • Highly professional with excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong market knowledge and a deep-rooted interest and passion for the Insurance industry.
