My client – a global financial institution is seeking to hire a Risk Director to join their Dublin city centre office. In this role you will lead a team with risk oversight responsibilities for identification and assessment of market, structural and liquidity risks in the businesses covered. You will provide analysis and assessment of limit requests and new products, valuation, risk reporting to relevant committees; ILAAP and contribute to other enterprise documents (Recovery Plan, ICAAP), stress testing, management of relevant policies, procedures, and models.


  • Ensure market, structural, and liquidity risks are identified and assessed in line with risk appetite and limits.
  • Ensure analysis and recommendations on new products including limit structure and amounts are properly prepared.
  • Facilitate timely resolution of risk and valuation related issues to ensure that portfolios are valued properly.
  • Responsible for ILAAP and for contributions to areas such as the Recovery Plan, ICAAP, Risk Appetite Framework.
  • Ensure appropriate stress testing is conducted on covered portfolios including any scenario testing and reverse stress testing.
  • Ensure risk reporting produced by the team is prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Prepare an annual work plan and present to the Chief Risk Officer.


  • Economics/Finance related degree or a quantitative discipline.
  • 10 years related experience in risk management or direct experience in the financial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of risk measurement such as VaR, risk sensitivities, stress testing, and models.
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations relating to capital and liquidity requirements.
  • Solid understanding of Capital Markets products.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a team required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
