About this job
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain a buy list of funds that will be used in the creation of a broad range of fund of fund portfolios. You will work very closely with Portfolio Managers to identify the best fund ideas according to the businesses fund selection process.
Specifically, you will be expected to maintain an excellent knowledge of allocated peer categories, as defined by Morningstar to understand industry positioning across the sector and create a “bench” of potential fund managers that suit the firm’s strategy.
You will meet with fund managers to develop a qualitative view of their investment approach and be expected to add sound quantitative analysis techniques to deliver a more focused and efficient approach to fund selection. In addition to this you will make regular presentations to the investment team including research into active manager trends, highlighting key strategic papers of leading asset managers and other relevant topics.
The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience and show a strong interest in investment markets as well las some experience in fund selection. Knowledge of Bloomberg and Morningstar is an advantage.
If you have, or are studying for, the CFA qualification (or similar) then this would be an advantage but it is not essential.
