IFRS and Statutory Accountant

The Role:

Reporting to the Statutory Accounting Manager, the IFRS Accountant will be managing the production of the Group consolidated and statutory accounts in line with best practice IFRSS and FRS principles.

As an IFRS Specialist, you will:

  • Help ensure that the Group produces IFRS compliant internal and external reporting.
  • Be responsible for the consistent and appropriate application of IFRS principles including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 36 and IAS 38.
  • Help prepare answers for consultation, provide advice and prepare positions on technical questions regarding IFRS related and judgemental matters.
  • Help prepare the detailed IFRS financial statements, including notes and front half disclosures.
  • Project manage the annual audit and release of half year financial statements.
  • Design trainings and workshops for both internal employees and members of the Audit Committee on any IFRS related topic, identify needs for any such trainings, especially the customer owners.
  • Invest time and stay up to date with recent developments and amendments to IFRS standards.
  • Liaise with commercial teams to ensure that FRPs and new contracts are written so that revenue can be recognised consistently and reflects the original business intent.
  • Liaise with FP&A team to ensure that revenue recognition can be accurately forecast.
  • Liaise with Internal Auditors, prepare presentation papers for internal audit meetings.

Required skills and experience:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with 2-4 year post qualification experience.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP.
  • PLC experience, either in practice or industry.
  • Strong understanding of Corporate Governance reporting requirements.
  • The proven ability to quickly assess problems and find effective solutions.
  • Very competent in Microsoft Office, with a high level of proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical accounting issues to non-accountants.
  • Team player who takes initiative and works constructively with others to achieve team goals.
  • Good interpersonal skills, strong communicator both orally and in writing.
