Our Client:

Our Client is a well-known Irish Plc, a market leader in their field. Currently undergoing double digit growth, they have a requirement for a new role as a financial accountant. Based in the city centre the company will be an attractive move for accountants who have recently completed their exams.

Financial Accountant:

The role is varied and will be ideal for a qualified accountant to grow and gain more experience. The role will report into the Senior Financial accountants and some of the duties are:

  • Assisting with completion of month end management accounts within agreed timelines
  • Assist with the preparation of month end journals e.g. prepayments, accruals, depreciation, revenue
  • Balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
  • Assist in the group consolidation of all entities in the portfolio
  • Assist in the development and management of the fixed asset register
  • Build on our continuous improvement culture by critically analyzing existing operating processes, policies and structure to improve operational effectiveness
  • Assist in the documentation and evaluation of all finance processes and procedures
  • Assist with the implementation of key financial controls and regular monitoring of same
  • Use prior knowledge of accounting systems to identify efficiencies in monthly/Group reporting process
  • Assist in the annual external audit process and preparation of year-end financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of bi-monthly VAT and monthly RCT returns
  • Preparation of various management reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Interrogation of month end numbers to include detailed variance analysis of actual costs versus budget and prior year
  • Assist in the treasury / cash flow forecasting process and oversee the bank reconciliation process
  • Assist in the annual budgetary process
  • Ensure books and records are maintained using best practice in accounting standards
  • Assist in the management of the accounts payable function
  • Participation in various ad hoc projects as requested

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant – 0-2 years PQE
  • Excellent attitude to work
  • Ability to be flexible and agile
  • Team player and independent
